Survival Tablet

     Linked herein are parts one and two of what was supposed to be a three part series on setting up a tablet or thumb drive with a digital prepping library and back-up of your necessary documents and information.  It would be really nice if they finished and posted part three of the article, but I imagine the information can be found elsewhere on the net.

20 Awesome Survival Books for Kids

     All kids should read these classics, as well as the other books on the list.  This article, from Mom with a Prep, does say that kids wouldn't lose anything by not reading all three of the books in the hunger Games trilogy.  I disagree with that.  There is a lot to be learned in all three of the books.  Not necessarily about preparedness and survival, but resilience, loyalty, and serving your community.  Those are probably the most important aspects you can take from that series.

Downloading the Classics

A good article with a couple of places to find literary classics online as .pdf e-books. Personally, I would just go to the Project Gutenberg website where you can download them in many different formats, and all of them DRM free.

Deadfalls and Snares

Good article about on a book about deadfalls and snares - a good trick to have in your bag.

Ah, Books...

I love books. There is nothing like the feel of the pages between your fingers and the smell of a book takes me back to the elementary school library. I can't get enough of books. I still remember the first book I read solely for my enjoyment. It was The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. I was so enthralled with it, I read it in three days. Not so much of a feat for an adult, but as a seventh grader, I had never read more than fifteen minutes at any one time because, frankly, I hated it. After I finished it, I went right back to the book store and bought The Elf Stones of Shannara and that was all she wrote. I was hooked. Fantasy was my genre. Nothing could compare. Unfortunately, it was another five years before The Wishsong of Shannara came out but I managed to fill the time with various other books that did not have the same profound effect on me as the Shannara books have.
